Mechanical Breakdown Protection

Help limit the cost of unforeseen vehicle repairs with a Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP) protection policy.

There are three levels of coverage to choose from depending on the vehicle’s age, mileage, and equipment.

  • Elite: Closest option to factory-like coverage. Eligible on vehicles current +10 model years with up to 100,000 miles.
  • Enhanced: Covers a majority of the vehicle's components and systems. Eligible on vehicles current +15 model years with up to 150,000 miles.
  • Essential: Covers the most important components on the vehicle plus some extras. Eligible on vehicles of any year and any mileage.

Coverage Benefits:

  • Choose your deductible1: $0, $50, $100, $250 or $500
  • Rental reimbursement2 up to $50/day for five days from day one
  • 24-hour emergency roadside assistance up to $100 per occurrence. Includes towing, battery jumpstart, fluid delivery, flat tire assistance, and lock-out service.
  • Trip Interruption3 reimburses up to $125/day for up to three days of meals and lodging if mechanical breakdown occurs.
  • Good at any authorized repair facility in the US or Canada.
  • Transferable to increase resale value only if sold privately. Subject to transfer service charge.
  • Road Hazard Tire & Wheel to cover the cost of the repair or replacement of your vehicle's tires or wheels damaged by road hazards.4
  • Windshield Repair on up to 5 minor chips or cracks to the front of the windshield.
  • Cancel for full refund within 60 days5

1 Not every deductible option is available for all MBP Coverage Plans or Terms.
2 Preferred partnerships with Budget, Avis, Enterprise & Hertz. Up to $250 per occurance. Available for both rental car and rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc.)
3 Trip must be more than 100 miles from the member's home address. Reimbursement up to $375 per occurance.

4 Unlimited Repairs; up to 2 tire and 2 wheel replacements.

5 Full refund available only if coverage is unused in the first 60 days. If used or canceled after 60 days, refund is prorated less administrative fee. Cancelation administrative fees vary by state.
